Poor blood circulation can be caused by blocked arteries, since then there is no enough blood supply to the certain parts of the body. Exercising helps you get rid of the extra calories that you took and in that way improves your blood circulation. You exercises should contain jogging, swimming, aerobics or about 45 minutes of swift walking. You should exercise around 5 times a week for best results.

Many people who are overweight find it difficult to exercise, but there is a diet to help them get to the point of being fit and also to improve their blood circulation. Foods that improve blood circulation include lean protein chicken, rice, bread, potatoes, orange, nuts, pumpkin seeds, watermelon, etc. Foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids like herring, tuna and salmon are very good for improving blood circulation, but you should forget about hamburgers, milkshakes and French fries. They are not good for you. You should take foods that lower your level of cholesterol.

There are also some herbs that can really help in improving blood circulation. Cayenne not only improves the blood circulation, but, it also regulates blood flow, strengthens capillaries and stimulates the heart. If you are a smoker, you should consider quitting smoking but also reduce drinking of alcohol if you frequently consume it.
