Since the world is where it is at the moment, it can be easily said that the number of office jobs that are performed at the desk is slowly increasing. This might be called a good thing, at least when it comes to working conditions, meaning that desk jobs usually require the use of brain and mental strength, but so-called side effect of this is the lack of physical activity, if any was present before. This might result in some physiological problems that are not easily eliminated.

Desk problems

Obesity might be at the top of the list of the problems that occur because of no physical activity. Dealing with that problem is really not easy, especially when there is not much overeating, but simply being passive caused a weight problem. Back pain can also occur and this one might happen because of the improper position held while sitting, and even because of the problematic chair, one that is not anatomically fitted for back. When it comes to chair, there is not much that can be done because usually companies do not want to increase their spending budgets with such a trivial matter. So the only thing left here is to learn exercises to do at your desk.

Exercises

First of all, think about how many times during working hours you actually get up from the chair, even if it is only for a minute? These pauses can be great for the organism, especially if walking is included, because this activity will speed up the blood stream, causing heart to work slightly faster, and the muscles are included, too. Easy exercises can be performed, those that do not require much time and space, such as lungs and jumping jacks, for example. If no one is around, then the office can be your gym, even if it is only for a minute or two. Men can also do pushups, since only hands might get dirty, but if there is no much space, walking or running can be done in place. Also, walking up and down the stairs is an excellent cardiovascular exercise for overall health and even some slight fat burning.

Remember, these exercises are not for some serious weight reduction, those are meant to help keep our organism active, and they also keep our mind active, which is very important no matter what job is done. Being active physically during the working period and afterwards is also great for reducing stress that is surely built up during a day.
