Introduction

It is a well known fact that lifestyles of modern societies, including the United States of America, dictate a lot of changes in the lives of people. It is fairly common to stay up later and that is not among the healthiest of habits. Another important issue is that there are pharmacies which are open all night long and they sell prescription or over the counter medications at any time. The same can be said for online banking and one should not forget various applications for smart phones which perform numerous tasks instead of real people. All of the aforementioned gradually leads to the development of such lifestyle which easily leads to disorientation when it comes to sense of time and place. One can do virtually anything, anywhere at any time. One of the most harmful consequences of lifestyle changes described above is the lack of sleep.

Lack of Sleep and Erectile Dysfunction

Not that many people are aware of the fact that lack of sleep may have a very negative effect on one’s ability to achieve and sustain an erection required for a sexual intercourse, mainly due to the fact that lack of sleep also means lack of sexual energy. Those who do not get proper amounts of rest and sleep actually feel as if they constantly carry around some extra weight on their shoulders. A person may try and convince herself or himself that everything is fine, but in reality she or he is actually only suffering. A person who does not get enough sleep ends up being tired. A tired person may perform all the ordinary tasks but he or she just cannot perform them as well as he or she would if there were sufficient amounts of rest at hand. Another problem with people who do not get enough sleep is that they often have the tendency to ingest plenty of caffeinated drinks. It is a well known fact that caffeine may have a negative effect on the quality of a person’s sex life, mostly due to the fact that it has very potent diuretic properties. All diuretic are known for forcing the urge to urinate and affect the blood stream in the penis, so it is much harder to obtain an erection. Caffeine is often considered as some sort of an easy fix by all those who tend not to get sufficient amounts of sleep, but unfortunately they are commonly not aware of all the harmful effects of it.
