Triphala is a word of Sanskrit origin and it is actually thename of an herbal meld of three different types of fruit. The three types offruit are amlaki, haritaki and bibhitaki. They are also sometimes referred toas amla, harada and bihara. The concoction of those three types of fruit isknown as beleric myrobalan, chebulic myrobalan and sometimes even Indiangooseberry.
