We will focus on a very irritating and uncomfortable problem called the excess and low stomach acid. Treatment of this problem depends highly on the early detection of the problem. We will see which the symptoms of both stomach acid problems are in the following text. The secretion of gastric acid, intrinsic factors and enzymes is performed by the digestive system and the stomach is only able to digest food when all of these secretions are performed.
Stomach and gastric acid are the same things and they are comprised of the acid solution with a 1-2 ph. level located in the stomach lumen. Potassium chloride and sodium chloride make up a larger portion of this solution, while hydrochloric acid is present in smaller amounts. The digestive system produces the stomach acid in a systematic way. Intestinal, gastric and cephalic stages are three stages of digestion and they are all involved in the production of stomach acid.
Food taste, smell and eating anticipation are stimulants for the cephalic stage, which creates stomach acid due to this effect. The stomach acid secretion is increased by the protein production as well. Radiation therapy, atrophic gastritis, stomach cancer, pernicious anemia, antacids use and other autoimmune disorders can be blamed for the alteration of the normal stomach acid concentration.
Symptoms of Low Stomach Acid
This is a problem associated with acid insufficiency and it is created due to presence of broken food in the stomach. Due to these foods, bacteria start to spread and cause probiotic imbalance and harmful bacteria, which further leads to the impaired body's ability to absorb nutrients. This further causes the insufficient levels of nutrients in the body, since the body cannot absorb them.
Many serious medical problems may be created due to the low stomach acid condition, most of them are caused due to the weak immune system. Other symptoms of this problem are feeling full, burning sensation, belching and bloating.
Symptoms of Excessive Stomach Acid
This problem also causes uneasy and inconvenient problems, such as heartburn and indigestion. Digestive tract disorders are usually to blame on for these problems, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and irritable bowel syndrome. Sour taste is another symptoms created because of the stomach acid reaching the esophagus, which creates an acidic taste.
Stomachache, burning sensation, appetite loss and nausea are other symptoms of excessive stomach acid. Know that these problems can cause some problems in your life since they are so frustrating and irritating, but they can also cause many complications that are more dangerous if the treatment is not conducted. Bear in mind that the problem will be easily eliminated and cured if proper and timely treatment is conducted.
