Stomach acid problems
Digestive problems are pretty common among people. This sort of problem occurs when the stomach does not create enough stomach acid. In spite of what people think, heartburn, sour stomach, nausea and pain are not caused because there is too much acid in their stomach. It is because there is not enough of it. Hypochlorhydria is the medical name for low stomach acidity, while achlorhydia is the term for the stomach that creates no acid whatsoever.
The most common symptoms of low stomach acidity
People can assume that they have these sort of problems if they experience heartburn, vomiting, nausea and sour stomach. If there is a strong and heavy feeling, like the food is simply sitting in the stomach in a lump, that can be the symptom as well.
A normal thing for someone's stomach is to create a lot of hydrochloric acid or HC1. Along with HC1, the stomach creates bicarbonate of soda. This soda keeps the lining of the stomach from any harm that HC1 can do to the stomach. Digestive problems and malnutrition occur when there is not enough HC1. Gastrointestinal problems like h. pylori bacteria will happen more often to a person if there is not enough low stomach acid. This particular bacteria is known to cause stomach ulcers, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome and some other diseases. It is essential that people have enough acid so that the digestion can be performed like it is supposed to.
How foods are digested
A person should improve the digestion with foods like, spices and herbs, meats, eggs, ocean salt, butter and mineral-rich bone broth.
