The intake of sweets and salt should be limited and a person should opt for healthy food like whole-wheat bread and brown rice. Alcohol should be drunk in moderate amounts.
Even though it is still not certain whether certain foods help preventing prostate cancer, a person should include them into the diet. For instance, foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids like salmon, herring and mackerel are good and healthy. Soy products should be consumed as well because they have phytoestrogens in them. Consumption of green tea is also advisable.
Drugs that prevent prostate cancer
There is still no sure proof that certain drugs prevent prostate cancer but some drugs like Aspirin, statins and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs do show certain potential. However, these drugs cause side effects and that is why they are not recommended for the use of prostate cancer prevention. Experts advise people to take selenium and vitamin E because it is believed that they help in prostate cancer prevention.
