Pain and water in the eye(s)
When there is the pain and certain constant amount of collected tears in the eye or the eyes, these are most commonly the appointers of the condition which could be generally accepted as the discomfort provoked by the irritation of the eye. The tears are, however the watery substance which have the function of the irrigation, cleansing and lubricating the eyeballs; therefore, it can be said that the increased secretion of this fluid is triggered as the consequence and response to the infectious process on the eye(s). Besides that, every time the eyelids are connected, the applying of these moisturizers over the eyeball is done.
Apart from that, there is the important part of the described system, and that is the special passage for the tears, in which the tears could be accumulated and that can cause the infectious, and consequently, the inflammatory process as well. When this is the case, the indicators of this condition are the pain at the place of the infection (that is of the corner of the eye closer to the nose) and the swelling of the inside walls of this canal and, therefore, the blockage of it happens. This problem should be solved as the prominent symptoms aggravate, by undergoing the surgical procedure of making the new canal next to the one damaged. At the same time, the affected canal is treated with silicone, which will lessen the swelling and infection.
Besides, the infection caused by the accumulation of the tears, the same process could happen because of the entrance of the foreign body into the eye. But, the phenomenon of the abnormal tearing can be also attributed to the simply clogged tear canal, which is manifested as the apparition of pus from the canal (and this can cause the eyelids to glue together). But, fortunately, in the most of the cases, this anatomic disorder is solved on its own during the early childhood.
The treatment
The excessive tearing problem is most commonly solved by the surgical procedure, which could be either, based on unclogging the canal, or making the new one, as already described. But, also very frequently performed are the surgical interventions which are accompanied with the processes of shrinking the eyelid of the affected eye, with making the entrance through the nasal cavity, all the way to the lower eyelid, or by making the passage which starts between the nose and the tear sac. However, in the case of the failed procedure, the implant which imitates the tear canal is placed into the nose.
