What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a term that refers to specific tographic skin changes. It affects most postpubertal females and develops in a form of skin modification that features with skin dumpling and nodularity. Characteristic changes commonly affect the pelvic region, lower limbs and abdomen. The specific skin changes develop as a consequence of the herniation of subcutaneous fat within fibrous connective tissue. This eventually leads to a padded or orange peel-like appearance of the affected skin.
How to Get Rid of Cellulite?
Due to its specific structure it is rather difficult to completely get rid of cellulite. Even though the battle may seem lost one should never give up and the final result will be in a form of cellulite reduction and prevention of its further development.
Most people first opt for dietary changes and exercises. These two methods can be partially efficient. People who abstain from junk food, take plenty of water and a lot of fresh fruits and vegetable should be less affected by cellulite. However, this does not have to be the rule. Namely, it is possible that in people who cherish unhealthy habits such as smoking, intake of too much sweets and sodas the cellulite may be less noticeable than in people who strictly pay attention on what they eat and who exercise regularly. There is a simple explanation for the previously mentioned- a genetic code.
Similar to any other fat even cellulite can be efficiently reduced with a healthy and low-fat diet. The actual appearance of a localized fat lump may not change but the overall amount of fat tissue will definitely reduce and give the skin more natural appearance. Diet must not include processed foods and is supposed to be rich in fruit and vegetables as well as whole grains. The intake of junk food is either limited or completely eliminated.
Another effective way in reduction of cellulite is exercise. The best option is a combination of cardio exercises such as running or biking and strength training. Both types of exercises are efficient and can successfully reduce the amount of accumulated cellulite and provide with better appearance of the skin. People who have not been exercising regularly are supposed to consult a well experienced trainer who will help them achieve the desirable level gradually.
One more way to treat cellulite is massage. The effects achieved with massage are only temporary and one is supposed to stick to healthy diet and regular exercise in order to maintain achieved results.
The thing that is most important is to have realistic expectations. It may not be possible to remove all of the cellulite. However, the total amount of this characteristic fat can be significantly reduced. If one expects for all the cellulite to vanish he/ she may end up disappointed.
