Turmeric is known as a spice which is usually added to the currymixtures and dishes.

This yellow-golden spice comes from India, and is used inIndian cuisine. Turmeric is often added to carries and most of the Indianmeals. It is also used as the natural color for mustard. This herb brings bright yellow color to the food, and alsoprovides many health benefits.

Turmeric Tea

The spice might be a bit too strong for your taste, if youaren’t accustomed to it. If this is the case, turmeric tea may be the rightsolution for you. The tea will preserve all of the good ingredients of the spice,but be milder to your taste buds. Use small amount of turmeric, enough to feelthe heat and not too much to make it unpleasant, and make some tea. Drink a cup ofturmeric tea every day, steadily increasing the amount of the spice used for thetea. Some honey or ginger might improve the taste of turmeric tea for you.

To make this tea, you will need two cups of water and 1 to 2teaspoons of grounded turmeric (modify the quantity of the spice to suit yourtaste). Almond milk, honey, and some other spices, like cloves or cinnamon, mightbe added to regulate the taste and give extra flavor. Use any or all of these.

Put turmeric and water in the teapot and simmer for 10minutes. After that, add spices if you like. Filter the tea, and now add honeyor almond milk if you feel like it.

Turmeric is not recommended to be used in pregnant women orbreastfeeding moms. Avoid this spice if you suffer from diabetes or hypoglycemia,or use some blood thinners (anti-clotting medications).

Turmeric may upset your stomach. So, if you haven’t beenusing this spice before, try low doses to make some turmeric tea.
