Green leafy vegetables and oily fish are important foods that will help a person stop feeling so stressed. Broccoli, cabbage, tofu and mackerel are excellent foods because they have high amounts of magnesium in them. Magnesium is the best mineral that fights off the stress. A person should make sure that he or she eats these foods at least 4 times per week.

A person should also consume oily fish because they are good food for the stress. Serotonin controls a person's mood and his or her ability to fight the stress. Fatty acids that can be found in oily fish actually increase the amount of serotonin. Apart from the fish oil supplements, a person can also consume mackerel, sardines and salmon. A person can even take omega-3 fish oil along with magnesium supplements every day.

Regulate energy levels

The best way to maintain the normal energy levels is by keeping the blood sugar levels normal. A person can do that by eating brown rice and oats and by avoiding pasta and white bread for example. Nuts for energy
Nuts are good because they also contribute to the normal blood sugar levels. A person can consume walnuts, almonds, cashews and peanuts between meals. They are also good because they have lots of vitamin B.

Shellfish and zinc

When a person is stressed he or she should increase the intake of zinc. After magnesium, this mineral is very important. Shellfish, seaweed, brown rice, mushroom, turkey and asparagus have lots of zinc in them. A person can even take zinc supplements every day.

Wind down foods

The intake of acid tryptophan is very important because it affects the sleep, among other things. Bananas, milk, fish, chicken, cheese and oats have this acid in high amounts so a person should have at least 3 meals that contain these foods every week.
