Fish must be included in the diet of every man, because it is rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Of lean meats, bison and venison and are healthier than beef, and usually, baked meat is much healthier than fried. Foods that have a lot of saturated fat and nitrates in them should be avoided. For example, such foods are sausages, bacon, hot dogs and processed lunch meats. A person who wants to have a healthy diet must be aware that all the vitamins and minerals which are necessary for the general body health can be provided only with a variety of foods. Drinking as much water as possible is also very beneficial for the health. A slice of lemon or lime may be added to plain water. Furthermore, milk and 100% fruit and vegetable juices should be used also as the main beverages.
One must also know which foods are not good for the health. It is recommended to avoid deep fried foods, sugary soda, greasy snack chips and white bread with refined pasta, as well as canned spaghetti and ravioli, sugary breakfast cereals and frozen fish sticks and corn dogs. The junk food like potato chips, tortilla chips, ice cream, and candy must be avoided also. When a person finds out which food is healthy and which is not, the next step is to change the eating habits. It is very important not to skip meals and it is recommended to have more small meals a day, rather than few but large.
