Basil

The use of basil is the very widespread from the ancient times until today. Its beneficial effect is confirmed through many recipes in folk medicine and aromatherapy.

Basil improves the appetite and digestion, reduces spasms, facilitates inflammation of the intestine lining, relieves indigestion, belching, hiccup, bloating, gas, nausea, vomiting and constipation.

This plant heals inflamed kidneys and bladder, and encourages better kidney function and urinary excretion.

Basil essential oil is used in treating:neuralgia, migraine, muscle pain and muscle cramps, fears, depression, hysteria, insomnia, physical and mental fatigue and apathy, cold, catarrh, sinusitis, rheumatic and arthritic pain, gout, insect bites, lack of concentration, digestive problems, vomiting and hiccup. Basil essential oil is an excellent painkiller.

It works by stimulating and strengthening mentally and physically tired body, improves concentration, clears the mind and increases the efficiency of thinking process.

It supports the action of other essential oils in the treatment of bronchitis, colds, flu, sore sinuses.

Basil essential oil is given to people who are insecure, depressed and listless due to its characteristics, wisdom, longevity and security that brings. It can be used as excellent antishock oil in the form of inhalation first aid.

"Green" note of basil and its therapeutic effects offer great opportunities for different combinations. For example, therapeutic baths for the treatment of addiction (drugs, alcohol) may combine it with: petit-grain, red thyme, cedar and lavender. Basil essential massage oil refreshes tired skin and relaxes muscles.

Basil essential oil in lamps will reduce headaches, eliminate fatigue, and enhance concentration, especially in combination with lavender.

Basil essential oil provides a fresh note to perfumes and toilet waters due to its "green" refreshing fragrance, and is often used in perfumery.

Basil really deserves the name "the grass of the gods", because its beneficial effects cover almost the entire body.

Proper use of basil oil does not cause any harmful consequences, but it shouldn’t be used during pregnancy, and when used in fragrance lamp it should be careful, because it contains phenols.
