Once the sunny season makes us get out of our warm shelters and enjoy the warmth of the sun rays, we must take care of our health. Namely, harmful UV rays of the sun can damage our skin and cause numerous health problems. Therefore, we need to protect our skin adequately by using sunscreens. However, choosing just any type of this product is not enough. Rather, you need to be careful and opt for the best possible products of this type. Chemical sunscreens can be good, but can also be quite harmful. Therefore, many people play it safe by choosing organic sunscreens which are completely natural.

Facts about Organic Sunscreens

Organic sunscreens contain molecules which, when they blend together, provide our body with excellent protection from harmful sun rays. These products absorb the UV rays and keep us safe. Yet, keep in mind that organic sunscreens do not have to be produced naturally. Rather, they have certain elements which come from nature and use these to protect our skin. Some of the main ingredients of organic sunscreens are lavender, aloe vera, carrot seed oil, shea butter, coconut oil, sunflower oil, green tea extract etc.

Also, minerals are added to these products as well as some other, active, ingredients. Finally, additional lines of defense are found in xanthan gum, lecithin and glycerin. These types of sunscreen not only protect your skin, but also give it all the necessary moisture and balance.

Make Your Own Organic Sunscreen

All you need is two and a half ounces of sesame oil, one half ounce of beeswax, one and a half ounce of coconut oil, four ounces of green tea and the same amount of distilled water. Additionally, you need two teaspoons of Benzoin, one teaspoon of wheat germ, 20 drops of antiseptic essential oil, a teaspoon of vitamin C and 200 IU of vitamin A.

Once you have all these ingredients prepared and waiting, heat a double boiler to medium temperature. Then, mix coconut oil, beeswax and sesame oil in the water. Once this is done, remove the boiler from the heat and add green tea and distilled water. Stir the mixture until you get a smooth, thick mass. Then, add wheat germ oil, vitamin C and A, as well as zinc oxide, stirring it up until it all blends together. Once you are done, cool it in the refrigerator and use it for protection from the sun.
