Sometimes we can experience a feeling of fullness in our stomachs not only after eating and it is a little bit strange for us. It is in that moment that we start to wonder what causes it. There are several potential factors that may create a feeling of stomach fullness and the people who experience this condition should be aware of them so that they could recognize the symptoms of the disorder that causes it and treat it as soon as possible.
Causes of fullness in stomach
Most of the times, indigestion induces fullness in the stomach, even though the indigestion is usually caused by overeating or consuming foods that are hard to digest (like spicy and oily foods). Apart from the stomach fullness, indigestion is likely to cause belching, bloating and flatulence. Heartburn and loss of appetite are also the symptoms that may appear due to indigestion.

Other possible signs of gastroenteritis besides stomach fullness include abdominal cramps, diarrhea and blood in the stools, but nausea and vomiting as well.
When one has problems with constipation, he/she is likely to experience fullness in the stomach accompanied by bloating, headaches and nausea.
Fullness in the stomach may also appear due to pregnancy and it is among the first signs of this condition in women. Typically, it is followed or accompanied by breast tenderness, spotting and other early pregnancy signs. In some pregnant women, the feeling of stomach fullness may be present during the whole pregnancy.
Remedies for fullness in stomach
Fullness in the stomach can be successfully cured by changing bad eating habits and by consuming the healthy foods. It is important that the one with this problem avoids eating excessive amounts of foods in a meal, but to eat several small meals during a day instead. Healthy eating should be supported by drinking plenty of water, minimum 2 or 3 liters a day. For example, indigestion induced stomach fullness is effectively treated by hot lemon juice, while fullness in stomach induced by acid reflux is best treated by apple cider vinegar.
