OCD and troubles

Regarded as main componentsof the much bigger ailment, i.e. the obsessive-compulsive disorder, are bothobsessive thinking and anxiety, respectively. The disorder in question is regarded as a type of mental disorder, which is primarily and predominantly characterized by disturbing thoughts that result in onset of anxiety. Furthermore, all thepreviously mentioned is quite often accompanied by recurrent behavior reducingthe overall anxiety, or by a mixture of various obsessions and compulsions –thoughts and behavioral patterns that emerge to surface in order for the personto be able to face the anxiety itself. Though people often tend to be characterized by some of the afore pointed out traits, these tend to consumeone rarely. In those people who suffer from OTD (or obsessive thinkingdisorder), however, things are quite different and much more serious; insome cases, quite severe. The main difficulty lies in the fact that such peopleget overwhelmed by the factors of the disorders all too easily and areunfortunately not able to deal with them in a satisfactory and desirablemanner. Also, it is considered that the troubling thoughts are exhibited in theform of certain patterns that can be noticed relatively easily. They includethree different ones:

Improper aggressive thoughtsInappropriate sexual thoughtsBlasphemous religious thoughts

The first groupincludes such thoughts as hurting other people present in the person’simmediate surroundings, or hurting oneself. Thus, it comes as no surprise thatthe sort of behavior, accompanied by such thoughts as described above, givesway to serious anxiety. Thoughts sometimes also include the desire to hurt aperson who is close to the individual suffering from OCD. At certain times, suchthoughts even find their way into the mind of people who do not suffer from thedisorder in question, with one crucial difference – they are able to deal withthem so as not to affect their life radically as it is the case with peoplesuffering from OCD. The second group of thoughts is represented by such assexual rendezvous thoughts of any sort and with any person that the individual in question knows. Once they start treating those thoughts asreal, the anxiety kicks in and in a lot of cases, depression as well. Blasphemy-relatedthoughts are regarded as, perhaps, the least serious ones and they include evilthoughts in the course of one’s prayer or meditation. The most prominenttreatment methods that provide satisfactory results include psychotherapy andobsessive thinking medications.
