Toddlers are notorious picky eaters, but it doesn't have to be that way. How do you raise a toddler who will try anything at least once, and who enjoys a healthy and balanced diet?

Meal planning is really helpful for parents who are cooking for whole families, including toddlers. Growing toddlers really need to have a varied diet that includes all kinds of foods not only for their health, but also so that they will get used to lots of different tastes and structures, and come to love enjoying good food.

Parents of the least picky eaters often avoid junk foods and lots of sugar, which is what many little ones would choose for themselves once they acquire a taste of these types of foods. Self-choosing what he eats is obviously not a good idea for toddlers, but that doesn't mean that a toddler can't have any control over his or her food.

What can you do to make your toddler feel that he or she is in charge of how they eat? Some ideas:Let them choose the plate they will use Give your toddler a choice of drinks to go with the meal Toddlers can decide how much food they will eat, and... How they want to eat it they can self-feed or be fed by a parent.

The happier a toddler is about meal-time routines, the less likely they are to engage in a power struggle using food as the weapon of choice. A messy table and floor is a small price to pay for a toddler who will eat any meal you prepare, from Greek lentil soup to lasagna, and even Brussels sprouts! Only having around healthy snack options disarms those snacks in between meals as well your toddler can't throw a tantrum over foods that he never eats.
