Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow is an injury of the muscle or tendon on the outside part of the elbow. The symptoms of tennis elbow are the pain which starts in the elbow and spreads to the wrist or forearm, pain while moving your arm, weakness in the forearm and failure to hold any objects in your hand. In the most severe cases the symptoms may include increased temperature around the elbow, abnormal appearance of the elbow, swelling, stiffness and fever. Tennis elbow is common in tennis players and other people who excessively use their arms in everyday activities, such as painters, carpenters or golf players. The treatment for tennis elbow usually includes painkillers, ice compressions and rest. In case of severe injury, surgery may be performed.

Homeopathic Remedies

There are various homeopathic remedies which can help you deal with tennis elbow. Arnica Montana is a homeopathic remedy for an injury or strain of the elbow muscle. Belladonna is used in case of sharp pain and swollen and inflamed elbow. Bryonia is excellent in case you feel pain when you move your arm. If the whole arm is in pain, Ferrum phosphoricum is the best remedy for you. Kalmia latifolia is recommended in case the pain spreads from shoulder or hip. Another homeopathic remedy is Sulphur, which is recommended for burning pain and inflammation.

Home Treatment

Ice compressions are highly recommended for easing the pain and inflammation of the elbow. You should apply the compression at least three times a day for optimal results. You should also wear protective bands around your elbow or wrist while you are performing any strenuous activities. The best way to heal tennis elbow is to rest your arm.

Prevention

Before you engage in any sports or activities, you should warm up and do stretching exercises to reduce the rick of injury or strain. You should also apply ice after sing your arms, even if you do not feel any pain. Keeping the muscles strong is also good prevention.
