He also holds a couple of other honorary degrees such as Degree of Doctorate of Sciences by Amity University, Noida, degree of Doctor of Science by Dr D. Y. Patil Deemed University, and Sri Chandrashekharendra Saraswati National Eminence Award by Maharashtra Governor K. Shankaranarayanan.
Teachings of Baba Ramdev
The foundation of his teachings is that yoga paranayama cures almost all incurable diseases. Divine powers are awakened inside of the practitioner and used to cure disease by Pranayama. Pranayama is a Sanskrit word translated as "extension of the life force" or "extension of the breath". In Sanskrit teachings, Prāna is the life force, or vital energy, the breath. The other part of the word, "āyāma", means to extend, draw out, restraint, or control. Pranayama is, therefore, the system of breathing control practiced through carefully tailored breathing exercises.
Yoga tips tricks and guidelines
Today, we usually think about yoga as about a system of light stretching exercises. However, these exercises, known as asanas, are only one of the eight different limbs (or principles) of yoga. Different yoga schools accentuate different limbs of yoga, but a true comprehensive system should always include three basic components of training:
- asanas (postures),
- dhyana (mediation),
- and paranayama (breathing exercises).
Swami Ramdev Baba’s tips, tricks and guidelines can help you get the most of your yoga practice and may help you understand on what different aspects you should focus your attention.
The first and most important advice is to start doing yoga with a little practice and make it a daily routine. Do not push yourself too hard and rather enjoy at where you’re at. You should also try to check your yoga positions whenever you can, since the most important thing in yoga is not what you do but how you do what you do.
Another good advice is to try with different types of yoga and gradually incorporate them into your routine. As already mentioned different types of yoga are focusing on various limbs and delivering miscellaneous benefits.
Do not forget the importance of perfect attention for yoga. Yoga is all about focus and concentration. If you’re having troubles with this, try to achieve more by working with a right yoga teacher. The right one is the one with whom a practitioner finds he or she is feeling comfortable.
