Urinary dysfunctionThis is one of the most common side effects after a prostate surgery and lots of people suffer from it.

Erectile dysfunctionErectile dysfunction is another side effects that happens to a lot of men after they have a prostate surgery. The reason why this happens is because the nerves which are near the prostate get removed during the surgical procedure. This is not permanent since there are treatments that can help a person get rid of this problem.

Bowel dysfunctionThis side effect is not that common as the previous two but it still occurs. The main reason for this side effect is a possible damage to the rectum during a prostate surgery.

Pain and bleedingPain and bleeding happen to almost all patients who undergo this surgical procedure. Usually the pain and bleeding stop in a couple of weeks or months but if they do not a person will need to look for some alternative treatments.

InfertilityEven though it does not occur so often, infertility can be one of the side effects of this surgery. Removal of the prostate and the seminal vesicles can lead to infertility.

Premature and retrograde ejaculationPremature ejaculation can be a side effect of the prostate surgery. This, along with retrograde ejaculation is considered to be one of the rarest side effects of this surgical procedure.

Side effects caused by a laser prostate surgery are frequent urination, infections of the urinary tract, loss of control of the bladder and the formation of the scar tissue in the urethra. Enlarged prostate surgery side effects include pain while urinating, TURP syndrome, blood in the urine, erection problems and narrowing of the bladder neck.
