Polycystic ovarian syndrome isthe term that is used for the specific hormonal disorder in women in theirreproductive age. The women with polycystic ovarian syndrome have enlargedovaries with many small cysts along the outside edge of the eachovary. Some doctors claim that the womanwith insulin resistance has the excess of insulin as the consequence, and thatexcess insulin further causes the higher production of the male hormoneandrogen, thus leading to polycystic ovarian syndrome. Moreover, the womenwith low-grade inflammation are at risk to develop polycystic ovarian syndrome.
