Dizziness and menopause

There are a lot of women all over the world who are not aware that dizziness can be one of the symptoms of menopause. Almost all women are aware of the other more common symptoms of menopause like hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia and mood swings. Women should also be aware that dizziness can be in most cases directly or indirectly connected with the changes in life. This is why dizziness is often seriously taken as a symptom of some change in the body that occurs. Another reason why people may experience dizziness is because of some medication they are taking to treat some other symptoms. A woman who is in the menopause and experiences dizziness along with it should know that it can be hard to handle in a lot of situations. If the problem does not go away after some time, it would be wise for a woman to pay the visit to the hospital.

Dizziness

A lot of people fear dizziness because they know that it can be quite dangerous. In some situation it can even prove to be fatal. A good example is a woman who is driving a car and at that moment she experiences the symptoms of dizziness or vertigo. At that moment she has a great chance of losing the control of the car and causes an accident. This is only one of the reasons why menopause and dizziness can be really hard to handle when they go together. This is why the symptoms must not be overlooked and should be properly treated as soon as possible.Menopause and dizziness may even be a sign of bone loss which is known to lead to osteoarthritis. It is not uncommon for the arthritis to cause dizziness, especially if the arthritis is in the neck or cervical spine. In this case, a woman is also very likely to experience hot flashes and night sweats as well. Mood swings, depression, irritability, frustration and anxiety can also lead to dizziness in menopause.

Hormone fluctuations are also known to lead to panic attacks and in that case it is pretty common for the dizziness to occur as well. Various treatments, like hormone replacement therapy for instance, have dizziness as one of its side effects. Even though it is normal for a woman to experience dizziness during menopause from time to time, she should go to the hospital and check it, just so to make sure that it is not a symptoms of something worse, like a tumor.
