Apart from being quite delicious, Chinese food is also very diet-friendly. That means that variations of Chinese foods that can be found are low-carb, low-fat and completely unsaturated. However, some places do not exactly prepare the food in a healthy manner that they could be prepared in and that’s why the food has come to be regarded as unhealthy. Luckily for Chinese food lovers, there are some ways to make the best of it.

The sauce

One of the tricks regarding the sauce is to not have it placed in the food because that way the food will end up completely soaked in fats and other unhealthy substances that the sauce may contain. A better solution is to have the sauce packed separately and just dip the food in it. That way no additional, unnecessary fat or sodium will have to be consumed.

Sodium in the amounts that are considered to be very unhealthy is a popular addition to fast foods. Sodium is also included in one of the most popular Chinese food sauces, and that is soy sauce. Luckily, soy sauces can be found with a reduced content of sodium. Some other sauces that have high levels of sodium in them are sweet and sour sauce, duck sauce and plum sauce.

The conditions that can arise from the negative effects of Chinese food

The main issue between Chinese food and preserving good health is in the fact that it is so often made in a way that leaves it completely soaked in saturated fats. That, and the fact that so many of the savoring sauces eaten with Chinese food are made in a way that is utterly innutritious, make Chinese food a hazard for one’s general health. One of the main problems, that can arise from frequent consumption of Chinese food is high cholesterol as well as high blood pressure.

Aside from the sauces, another thing that is bound to level up the blood pressure are the soups. The soups are considered healthy in many aspects - have a positive effect on weight loss, they are always very low-fat, but unfortunately, they are full of the infamous sodium.

Additional healthy tricks

Every once in a while it’s good to take a break from those intense sauces and switch to some rice-wine vinegar, wasabi and ginger.

Also, when in doubt about the rolls, it’s good to remember that spring rolls are a considerably healthier alternative to egg rolls.

Finally, when anything has the option of being either steamed or fried, it is undoubtedly better to choose the steamed alternative, as fried foods are possibly the unhealthiest kinds of food possible.
