- Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer that appears in women. The time of its appearing is somewhere between 40 and 45 years of age. - Cervical cancer also doesn’t appear with some recognizable symptoms and signs and it is one of the deadliest among women. Women may suggest that something is wrong when the cancer starts to affect the tissue and it is manifested as vaginal bleeding that appears between periods, after the menopause, after sexual intercourse. Along with these symptoms, foul smelling vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, and pain while urinating can appear. - Uterine cancer or endometrial cancer is a cancer type that affects the inner lining of the uterus. It develops somewhere around the beginning of menopause. Women who are older than 50 years are at higher risk of uterine cancer appearance, while women suffering from endometrial hyperplasia, high blood pressure and obesity belong to the group that has more predispositions to this cancer development. But, it also has a good side, as it is treatable with a surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
There are some other cancer types that appear in women, and gestational trophoblastic tumor (GTT), ovarian cancer, vaginal and vulvar cancer are the most frequent ones. So, as you can see, it is important for a woman to visit regularly her gynecologist, even if she is in menopause, because these cancers can appear in menopause and earlier.
