Cardamom (Elattaria cardamommum)

Ayurvedic Recipe for Treatment of Depression
For treatment of depression Ayurveda uses 4 powder mixture prepared of:
5 parts Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus)
3 parts Brahmi (gotu kola)
5 parts Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia)
3 parts Jatamansi (Nordostachys jatamansi)
Mix these powders, add ½ cup of water to about ¼ of the mixture and drink it three times a day.
Apart from this, breathing exercises, medication and physical activity in the morning can help patients suffering from depression. Also, depressed individuals should not eat heavy, spicy and pungent foods but should include plenty of fluids, vegetables and lot of fresh fruits in the diet.
