When one is looking to develop a meal plan, it is important to take into account ones levels of blood sugar. Carbohydrates cause a raise in blood pressure as a result of increased glucose levels. As a response to an increase in the level of glucose, the pancreas releases insulin, a hormone responsible for getting amino acids and carbs into the muscles. Problems with blood sugar levels

When blood sugar increases rapidly, an excess of insulin tends to be produced. This can lead to a clearing of glucose from the blood, which in turn causes hypoglycemia. Low blood sugar causes cravings, hunger, weakness, mood swings and a lack of energy. Craving for food tends to induce a cause and effect cycle.

In the event of an excessive rise in the level of carbohydrates, insulin will convert the remaining glucose into triglycerides that are then stored in the fat cells. This might also result in the release of cortisol, which is a dangerous hormone capable of killing brain cells. Cortisol also increases fat storage and breaks down muscle mass.Diet

In order to maintain a proper diet, one should limit ones intake of glycemic index carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are safe and healthy, but carbohydrate intake needs to be limited in all weight loss programs. Look to reduce consumption of simple carbohydrates such as refined sugar and white flour products. However, the consumption of natural carbohydrates such as fructose and lactose is perfectly acceptable.

The carbohydrates in your diet should be combined proteins or essential oils or fats. Eat more complex carbohydrates and reduce consumption of simple carbs. Make sure you are getting a high enough intake of fiber and lean protein, both of which serve to slow the release of glucose. This can help lower the chances of releasing a large amount of insulin. Correctly balancing ones protein and carbohydrate levels can lead to the release of another hormone, known as glucagon. Similarly to insulin, glucagon helps us to maintain a proper balance of blood sugar. Glucagon also helps to burn fat and mobilize fat molecules.

Blood sugar levels should be properly maintained as much as possible. Doing so helps us lose fat and control hunger cravings. Maintaining this balance will help us to maintain consistent energy levels and also reduce the risk of diabetes. Further to this point, excessive sugar and insulin levels can have negative affects on our immune and cardiovascular system.
