Side effects of xanax xr

Xanax XR (alprazolam) belongs to a group of drugs – benzodiazepines. Alprazolams chemical affects on the brain but can cause anxiety. Drug Xanax XR is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and depression. Xanax XR can be used for other treatments that are not listed in medication guidelines. It is not recommended to use Xanax XR in case of allergy to alprazolam or some other type of benzodiazepines, (clorazepate chlordiazepoxide, diazepam, oxazepam or lorazepam). The drug can cause birth defects in an unborn baby if it is used during the pregnancy.

But of course there are side effects of drug called Xanax XR. Patients with panic disorder were using Xanax XR. The side effects I am talking about are: coordination abnormal, sedation, memory impairment, ataxia, somnolence, lower libido, dysarthria.

Clinical Trials of XANAX XR In medically controlled clinical trials of placebo 17% out of total 531 patient’s users of Xanax XR for treatment of panic disorder had the experience of discontinuation. These findings were compared to the results of patients for placebo treatment 8% (that is out of 349 patients).

Evaluation531 patients with panic disorder were treated with Xanax XR. Side effects due to a treatment of Xanax XR during treatment might not be caused by the drug. The side effects are categorized by body system and listed by decreasing frequency, using the further definitions:-in case of l out l00 patients a frequency of adverse events are 1 or more in at least infrequent adverse events and are happening in less than l/100 patients but at least l out1000 patients.

The dosages of Xanax XR Tablets are to be reduced slowly, in order to discontinue treatment. Daily dosage of Xanax XR should be reduced by 0.5 mg on three days.

Slower dosage reduction can bring benefits to treatment users. Study of panic disorder with patience’s shows that there were no difference between the groups in the proportion of patients who have had no dosage. In this case it is the same as with all benzodiazepines. There are paradoxical reactions rarely involved: hallucinations, muscle spasticity, stimulation, increased sleep disturbances, irritability, agitation, hostile behaviour...

There are different adverse medications reactions related to the use of Xanax XR. A causal relationship to the use of Xanax cannot be determined cause of the lack of control. The events included here are: galactorrhea, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, hepatic failure, gynecomastia, hepatitis, liver enzyme elevations and hyperprolactinemia.

In case of using other CNS drugs there were underlying psychiatric conditions reported. If there are such events the drug alprazolam should be discontinued.There is a great risk for patients with history of aggressive behaviour,alcohol or drug abuse or borderline personality disorder to use such drugs. During the discontinuation, episodes of irritability or hostility are not the news, cause of the alprazolam in patients who suffer a posttraumatic stress disorder.
