There are groups of medications used to treat cholesterol and triglyceride levels and such medications have side effects as drugs itself. But there is also classification made according to the system in the body.
Crestor Side Effects
The drug belongs to a group of HMG CoA drugs and those are reductase inhibitors: such medication limit cholesterol and triglycerides, also prevents stroke chances heart attack or a heart complications. The drug is used to prevent diabetic and heart disease patients and other similar risk factors.
Rosuvastatin Side Effects
Medication limits levels of harmful triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood bringing out good cholesterol.
Musculoskeletal Side Effects
HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors that are used to treat rare cases of rhabdomyolysis and myopathy, increases proteinuria, creatine kinase, renal failure or myoglobinuria. The symptoms of medication side effects are: sensitivity, muscle pain or weakness. Development of symptoms includes elevation and measured creatine kinase. In such case, Rosuvastatin should be aborted too.
A regular creatine kinase monitored is not familiar. Musculoskeletal also has side effects and those side effects are arthralgia, back pain, myalgia, arthritis, asthenia or pathological fracture. Musculoskeletal side effects in the combination with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors increased tendon rupture, creatine kinase, rhabdomyolysis, myopathy, and dermatomyositis.
Renal Side Effects
Renal side effect could be renal failure especially if rosuvastatin has been taken, with no determined causality. Patients with statin therapy may be at kidney failure increased risk if they are not on statins.
Proteinuria Side Effects
Proteinuria side effects hematuria or without, occurred during rosuvastatin therapy and are linked to a dosage of medicine.
Hepatic Side Effects
Hepatic side effects increased risk of hepatitis, serum transaminases and jaundice. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors involve liver fatty changes chronic active hepatitis, liver failure, cirrhosis and fulminate hepatic necrosis.
Respiratory Side Effects
Respiratory side effects are bronchitis, rhinitis, pharyngitis, cough, dyspnoea, sinusitis, asthma and pneumonia etc...
Nervous system Side Effects
Side effects of nervous system are hypertonia, headache, insomnia, dizziness, vertigo, neuralgia, paresthesia etc... And in the combination with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors side effects are cognitive function lowering, drowsiness, weakness, fatigue, dysfunction, memory loss, polyneuropathy, peripheral nerve palsy peripheral neuropathy etc...
Psychiatric Side Effects
Psychiatric side effects of medications are anxiety and depression. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors also mean delusions, decreased libido, suicidal thoughts, insomnia, nightmares, agitation, paranoia etc.
Gastrointestinal Side Effects
Gastrointestinal side effects are gastroenteritis, flatulence, dyspepsia, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, nausea, periodontal abscess etc... HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors also involved anorexia, abdominal pain or pancreatitis.
Cardiovascular Side Effects
Side effects of cardiovascular are vasodilatation, hypertension, palpitations and angina pectoris.
Endocrine Side Effects
Endocrine are diabetes mellitus and in the combination with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors have involved thyroid function abnormalities, hypospermia, acid maltase deficiency or gynecomastia.
Hematologic Side Effects
Are ecchymosys and anemia: haemolytic anemia, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), leucopoenia and thrombocytopenia: in the combination with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors may involves hypersensitivity reaction.
Dermatologic Side Effects
Rash and purities are dermatologic side effects.
Genitourinary Side Effects
In the combination with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors side effects are erectile testicular pain, disfunction and impotence.
Hypersensitivity Side Effects
In rare cases in the combination with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors hypersensitivity side effects are fever, malaise, chills, angioedema, flushing, dyspnoea, anaphylaxis, urticaria and allergic reaction.
