Symptoms of arthritis

There are more than hundred different types and kind of arthritis. Here is a short description of most common ones.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA)This type of arthritis is disabling and painful inflammatory autoimmune chronic disease that causes the immune system of the body to attack the joints. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis often suffer lasting immobility due to pain and joint deformation.

Septic arthritisInvasion of the joint space by some of infectious agent is called Septic arthritis. Inflammation is usually caused by bacteria, but it could also be of fungal, mycobacterial or viral origins. Inflammation may be caused by adjacent tissue.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus symptoms or Lupus or SLEThis type of arthritis affects muscles, joints, skin, and rarely internal organs. Symptoms of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus usually appear in adult women, but they can appear at any women’s group age. Depending of severity of the symptoms it can be life threatening or very mild.

Osteoarthritis or OAThis type of arthritis is also known as degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease. Symptoms of this kind of arthritis is tear and wear of the joints, meaning that relatively mild inflammation in the joint caused by wear of cartilage ( that acts like a cushion inside joints), is present and painful. OA is very crippling type of arthritis, it severely limits the motions due to pain and joint degeneration and it may permanently affect your living quality movements and a way of life. Also OA is one of the most common form of arthritis.

Psoriatic arthritis symptomsThis type of arthritis usually occurs when bone and surrounding joint tissues became inflamed, and this type of arthritis, much like RA, affects the whole body. People who had psoriasis, a chronic skin disorder, usually have this type of arthritis, but not in a very large percentage. Psoriatic arthritis usually affects spine or fingers, and symptoms are usually mild but it can become quite severe, too.

Gout arthritisUsually big toe is affected with this kind of arthritis, but any joint may be affected too. Gout arthritis causes sudden and severe pain, and cause of it is a build up in the joints of uric acids crystals from blood. Diet and medications can control this type of arthritis. Approximately one million American has it more men then women and risk group is between 40 and 50 years of age.

Ankylosing Spondylitis arthritisThis type of arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder in the spine that as it progresses make the spine rigid. It affects more man than women, in age group between 16 and 35.

Juvenile arthritisMost common form of this type of arthritis is juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Diagnosis, treatments and disease characteristics differ very much from one case to another. Some children successfully recover other stays affected for life.
