Health Insurance

The system of health insurance is not without flaws. One of such flaws is the fact that you will have to pay less if you do not have health insurance, while you will have to pay more if you do have it. This is something that bothers a lot of people. You will have to give a lot of money every month for your health insurance if you have a policy in some of the biggest companies like the Humana or Blue Cross. The companies have a rule that the monthly premiums will be lower depending on the higher deductibles. So a company will not pay any amount of money if the deductible, for example 2500$, is paid.

What if you do not have health insurance?

Another vague situation can occur if you end in a hospital and you haven’t paid the insurance monthly costs. In this situation, you will have to pay the insurance payments and the fees from the hospital. The fees from the hospital will be covered again next year if the health insurance fiscal year is ending and this would leave you for the bill for the insurance payments and the treatment. The fact is that you will have to pay less if you do not have health insurance. This is because those who are not insured get other rates from the hospital and they are usually around the half amount people with insurance pay for the same treatment. We will run a simple scenario now.

By paying for the monthly insurance fees, let’s say 300$, and you go to the hospital once a year and have a treatment which costs 3000$, you will pay 6600$ in total. There is another scenario in which you also go the hospital on one occasion during the year, but you do not have health insurance. In this situation, you will have to pay somewhere around 800$ in total for the treatment since you will not have to meet the monthly insurance payments. Insurance is best for those who know that they will spend a lot of time in the hospital and that these treatments will cost more then 10000$. People, who are going to the hospital for regular checkups or for problems like cold, are better off without the health insurance. This is choice you will have to make. Hospitals have the policy to reduce the fees of their services to those who do not have insurance in order to help them. But this is really fair because people who are meeting their monthly health insurance payments are providing the money for the hospitals.

Some may find a great deal in this arrangement not to have a health insurance and let other people provide the money for the hospitals. The fact that people who do not have health insurance will have to pay less is something people are not really aware of right now, but soon they will be. If this happens, the insurance companies and hospitals will start to lose money. Government programs are good for low class since only families with big incomes can afford the good health insurance, unlike the middle class.
