Dystonia

We will talk about one relatively new condition, which can affect people of all age, but it is commonly associated with the older age. People think that old age causes this condition but this is not true. Also, children, women and men can be affected by this condition called dystonia.

Symptoms

Vision change, problems with concentration, depression, tiredness and impaired sleeping are some of the symptoms that this condition causes. There are several other possible symptoms that can make your day very hard. When you hear this, you know that you want to do everything to eliminate this problem in the beginning and this is why self-diagnosis is extremely important. There are certain similarities between the PD and the dystonia, but the specialized neurologists are trained to notice the small differences between these two disorders and make the correct diagnosis.

Cerebral cortex damage and the damage of the corresponding pyramidal tract are some of the clinical features associated with the spastic cerebral palsy. There are several symptoms associated with this condition, such as clonus, muscle spasms, increased passive movement's resistance and paucity of movement. Also, it can cause absence of muscle change during the posture alternation, like when we change posture from sitting to standing, and the extreme deep tendon reflexes. Adulthood is something patients suffering from this problem can hope for.

Progressive neurodegeneration is present among those with the NPD type A and 10 month milestone attainment is a hard thing to achieve for these people. Sitting with the assistance is the best motor milestone attainment most people with this condition can hope for. As the condition progresses, the achieved milestones will be lost and the patient will start to feel hypotonic and very weak.

MS causes several symptoms considered common, but there are many others that are very large in numbers and we will not talk more about them. Know that you have to react once the symptoms appear, because if they are not treated, many more serious problems and conditions are likely to appear. This condition can be treated with the surgery. The main contracting muscle has to be found by the doctors with the use of certain tests and then the surgery will be performed and the nerves surrounding this muscle cut.

Athetosis and dystonia are very similar, since they both cause slow and twisting movements of the trunk, limb proximal segments, neck and head, but there are differences as well. Dystonia lasts longer, affects the axial muscles and is more persistent when postural abnormality is concerned. Painful condition called torticollis causes neck muscles to contract in an uncontrolled manner and this leads to the turning and twisting of the head, which can also jerk in some situations. The spasms can become aggravated by walking, standing or any other activity and thus make your life a lot harder.
