What is Master Cleanse Diet?
Master cleanse diet was developed several decades ago, in order to provide people a method for removing all the harmful toxins which get to our body through our unhealthy lifestyles and the junk food we eat. Namely, it involves living on a specific lemonade for about 10 days, until your body manages to recover and expel all the harmful toxins out of it, making you healthier and, thereby, happier.
For the lemonade used in this diet, you need 8 ounces of purified water next, you add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon or lime juicce and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and then a bit of cayenne pepper to complete the mixture, which is then stirred and drunk, being the basic source of your energy during the days of your cleansing diet.
The first and basic rule of this diet is not to eat or drink anything else but the lemonade. Ideally, you are advised to drink about 8 glasses a day. However, if you are troubled by hunger, you could always drink more. Moreover, before you start your strict diet, you need to make sure your stool will be hard even after you start basing your diet on liquid. Thus, make a mixture by adding 1,5 teaspoons of salt which is not iodized into a quart of lukewarm water. Drink this the night before you start the diet and every morning during your diet.
Another thing to pay attention to is the quality of the products you are using. So, purchase only organic, fresh lemons and make sure that the maple syrup you are using is of a grade B type.
Once your diet has finished, you need to start eating normally again. However, this cannot happen overnight. Rather, you need to introduce different food gradually. First day after the diet, start drinking orange juice slowly. Next day, start consuming soup. Then, on the third day, make your daily diet consist of orange juice for breakfast, vegetables for lunch and vegetables along with fruits and salads for dinner. Make sure that this “comeback” is a gradual one, giving your body enough time to get used to solid food again.
Also, while on this diet, you are advised to continue with your life normally, going to work, doing exercises and performing all your daily obligations unobstructed.
