Earliest possible signs of pregnancy

Each pregnancy is different and pregnancy symptoms differ from woman to woman. Implantation Bleeding

Implantation bleeding is one of the first symptoms of pregnancy. This condition is also known as implantation spotting, and it looks like a scanty and usually pink or brownish discharge. This kind of discharge normally occurs a week before your period would normally start. This symptom is found in 20% – 30% of all pregnant women, and it occurs together with the implantation of an embryo into the uterine wall. This usually happens 6 to 12 days after conception. The spotting is usually accompanied with abdominal cramping.

Morning Sickness

This symptom is also known as nausea gravidarum, nausea, vomiting of pregnancy or pregnancy sickness. It is the most common symptom that affects more than half of all pregnant women. The nausea is most severe in the morning, and it gets reduced during the day. In some cases, nausea induces vomiting. Morning sickness usually begins around the 6th week of pregnancy and ends around the 12th week. The main cause of pregnancy sickness is the alleviated level of the hormone estrogen.

Fatigue

Many women report fatigue during pregnancy as one of their most annoying symptoms. Fatigue usually starts in the first week of pregnancy, and it persists during the whole first trimester. Some pregnant women may also experience difficulty sleeping at night. The feeling of tiredness is due to the rising levels of progesterone and an ongoing process in which the body adapts to pregnancy.

Swollen and tender breasts

Pregnant women usually notice changes in their breasts as early as 1-2 weeks after conception. The breasts may appear tender, sore or swollen. It is often one of the very first signs that a woman is pregnant. The tenderness usually continues through the first semester, and it as a result of all the hormonal changes that a body is going through.

Missed period

A delayed or missed menstruation is the most prominent symptom of pregnancy. Many women will bleed even while they are pregnant. However, this bleeding is shorter and lighter than a normal period. Missed period is the least reliable sign to watch for.
